JEONIJO, the artist name of Jeoffrey Nicolas de Jong, is a Dutch-born artist based in New York’s Hudson Valley, JEONIJO has called the region home for more than a decade. Surrounded by its forests, mountains, and ever-changing landscape, he finds much of his inspiration in the natural world and in materials others might overlook.

Where someone else might see a weathered piece of driftwood or discarded scrap metal, JEONIJO sees what it could become. With a vivid imagination and an instinct for bringing unlikely materials together, he creates one-of-a-kind works that range from whimsical and intriguing to wonderfully otherworldly.

Originally a painter, JEONIJO brings that background into his sculptural work through his use of color, texture, layering, and dimensional effects. Each piece is thoughtfully created with its own character and story, inviting the viewer to look closer and discover something unexpected within it.
